I was contracted to design and build 40 realistic LED candles with individual dimming control to be controlled by the lighting console and to emulate the feeling of real candles on a tiny black box stage. The result was stunning.

Lighting for film and broadcast
A sampling of onset photos where Maxx was the Gaffer or Board Op.
Stick frame building constrained by an existing garage foundation, and abutting the neighbors’ fences.
The fire resistant walls were assembled and clad flat on the site and lifted into place.
As the building was intended to be a workshop interior finishes were limited, but care was taken with the exterior cladding and the cascading slope of the roof and accompanying stair-stepped side windows.
Under construction.
This tiny house near the Russian River has been an experiment. With dual mandates of excellent thermal performance and fire resiliency, the design developed through research in european concepts of high performance construction.
The core box of the house is made of 28 pre-fabricated cross laminated timber panels. To prevent air leakage, the entire form is wrapped in a vapor permeable membrane, which is then wrapped in a continuous 3” layer of Rockwool insulation, eliminating every possible thermal bridge. Final cladding will be steel standing seam and ipe. The exposed beams supporting the winged roof are treated with fire, hoping to achieve the performance of Shu Shugi Ban.
Inside the single room is designed to be simple, efficient and have all the comforts of a much larger home.
All event designs here were implemented during Maxx's tenure at Impact Lighting|Audio|Video as Senior Sales Account Manager.
Clients ranged from private weddings to large corporations.
I designed and built out the lighting grid and rig for a production studio for Google events team. It was the culmination of multiple smaller studio and mobile setups I had worked on with the team over the pandemic.
