“Vanessa Flores’ direction exemplifies how theater doesn’t need a sky-high budget to make transformative art (though Maxx Kurzunski’s ace, mood-defining lighting design certainly helps).” - SF Chronicle, Lily Janiak

Lily Janiak, SF Chronicle theater reviewer:
"Maxx Kurzunski’s lighting is among the show’s most effective devices. So often in contemporary theater the overriding mandate from director to designer seems to be, “Just let me see everything.” Refreshingly, Katz, who also directs, keeps the show shrouded in darkness, so that even on a tiny stage, Kurzunski can create myriad hermetically sealed little worlds, each in isolated cones of peach, blue and red light. In this twilit universe, it’s easy to see how Howard could remain so cut off from the consequences of his actions."
